Sprint Disqualifications and Bans

2024-10-04

Dear Club Member

Recently, during a routine check of the Sprint contest logs, we noticed several stations intentionally removed QSO(s) from their logs. How can we be so sure?

In some cases we checked the full sprints recording (yes, we record the whole contests) and easily confirm if the QSO did exist.

On another occasions, we didn't even bother to check the recordings. Why? Because the Sprint missing QSO(s) were later uploaded to the club database!!!

As we have mentioned in this post, we understand "amateur radio is an hobby but, as administrators of the QO-100 Dx Club, we take it seriously".

We also "feel we have an obligation to our members", to make sure when it come to our awards, rankings and contests, all abide by the same rules.

So, it's with an heavy heart we announce the discipline measures against 4 stations:

  • Three participants from the last Sprint (FTx) were disqualified and their logs removed. They will be banned to participate on the next Sprint.
  • One participant on a previous Sprint (CW) will be banned to participate on the next Sprint.

As have already made abundantly clear on the mentioned post, honour is the corner stone of this club.

We "have ZERO tolerance for anyone who submit logs with intentional wrong information". There are "no warnings, no but's, no if's."

We hope this was an isolated event but we haven't closed our investigation, so more disqualifications/bans are possible.

Thank you for your continuous support and cooperation.
