Dear Club Members

We all agree amateur radio is an hobby but, as administrators of the QO-100 Dx Club, we take it seriously (perhaps too seriously, some might say). That's because we feel we have an obligation to our members, to make it fair for all.
Also because our club (as much as almost every aspect of amateur radio) is based on honour. This means our members trust us their logs and we trust our members to be honest, and we accept their logs based on that presumption.
However, according with our experience, we know most logs have errors, but usually these are not intentional, and the filters we have in place flag most of those "QSO with issues", so members have opportunity to fix their logs.

At this point we also would like to stress we are not, nor want to be, any sort of authority to confirm if a QSO is valid or not valid via QO-100. To be clear: we don't check if the station has proper licence, if he/she is operating where he/she is clamming to be, etc, etc. But, for the purpose of our rankings and awards, we want to be sure the logs are accurate. That's all we want.

We also made very clear since day 1 that any abuse of our good faith will not be tolerated. Before you upload your log, the last sentence on the page text reads: "If any discrepancy is later found on the log (eg duplicate QSO with different calls or no QSO match due call mismatch) the member may be removed from all rankings."

Having said that, as much as it pains us, we are announcing, for the first time ever, a member account was suspended and the call sign removed from all rakings and awards. We will not make public the details of this unfortunate event, but we want to make very clear for everyone we have ZERO tolerance for anyone who submit logs with intentional wrong information. No warnings, no buts, no ifs. If you try to fool us and the club members, you will be removed from the club. Plain simple!

Of course an important decision like this will not be taken lightly, but rest assured if any other case is flagged, we will act!
Hopefully this was an isolated incident and we will never have to touch this subject again.
Now, let's work some Dx on QO-100.
