Dear QO-100 Dx Club Members

Over the past days we have been working on new web site features, based on our personal view but also incorporating your requests/feedback.
Some of those features are related with mode filtering, giving a more complete overview of the different mode activity of each operator on the satellite.
While we were testing we noticed "something didn't look right" on the DATA rankings... After some investigation we found a bug in our code!

What happened?
When we did the mode rankings, we separated the modes by CW, SSB and DATA. The first 2 are very straight forward. DATA is not. Why? Because we need to define what digital modes are accepted under DATA category.
Obviously we didn't need, nor we wanted, to "reinvent the wheel", so we follow the ARRL LOTW definition. You can see the full listing here, under 6. Modes chapter.
Beside very limited (we know that now), this list has a major flaw: one of the most popular data modes (FT4) it's incorrectly defined! The correct reference is MFSK (as defined by ADIF format and used by software log programs).
Unfortunately we failed to noticed that then and the consequence was the FT4 QSOs were not accounted on the DATA rankings.

Who is affected?
Only stations who work any DXCC/Grid on FT4 mode that has not been worked on any other DATA mode!

What are the consequences?
We already made the necessary corrections and observed the results. The general rule is most stations increased their totals (DXCC/Grid).
No station has now less DXCC/Grids, but the relative positions have changed. So the DATA rankings (DXCC/Grid) are going to change.

We are very sorry. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

FAQ
===

I only operate CW/SSB. Does this bug have any consequence for me?
No, absolutely none.

Why the ALL MODES result has no change?
Because those rankings have no mode filter (all valid NB transponder modes are accounted)

Why many stations increased their totals and I didn't?
Most likely because you have none (or very little) number of FT4 QSO. Or, despite having several FT4 QSO, they do not represent a new DXCC/Grid.

So, currently, what are the valid DATA modes?
AMTORFEC, ARDOP, ASCI, CHIP, CHIP128, CHIP64, CLO, CONTESTI, DOMINO, DOMINOF, FMHELL, FSK31, FSK441, FT8, GTOR, HELL, HELL80, HFSK, ISCAT, JT4, JT44, JT4A, JT4B, JT4C, JT4D, JT4E, JT4F, JT4G, JT65, JT65A, JT65B, JT65C, JT6M, JT9, MFSK, MFSK16, MFSK8, MSK144, MT63, OLIVIA, OPERA, PAC, PAC2, PAC3, PAX, PAX2, PKT, PSK, PSK10, PSK125, PSK2K, PSK31, PSK63, PSK63F, PSKAM10, PSKAM31, PSKAM50, PSKFEC31, PSKHELL, Q15, QPSK125, QPSK31, QPSK63, QRA64, ROS, RTTY, RTTYM, T10, THOR, THRB, THRBX, VOI, WINMOR, WSPR

When is the new site version going to be online?
Soon, probably over the weekend. Sorry we can't be more specific. We are still running tests. Note: the web site was updated Nov. 21st 2021 at 1230z
