Update 28 Apr 2026: Next Thursday, the ship will make a stop over in Mindelo, Cape Verde (HK76) and the current operator will leave the ship.

There is no amateur radio operation via QO-100 expected until the ship returns to DL.

The Research Vessel Polarstern, DP0POL/MM  (QO-100 Dx Club #441) has left the Antarctic region and heading to the home port in Bremerhaven, Germany, where it's expected to arrive 15 May 2026.

During the trip, Andy DL3LRM, will be QRV as time permits, outside his QRL duties.  Currently it's operating FT4 as DP0POL from GE33. 

Please log all FT4 QSO as DP0POL/MM. The reason why /MM is not used on FTx mode is to save characters so the operator can announce the grid square.
