"The 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-2023)

550 years ago on February 19, 1473 in the Polish city of Torun, Nicolaus Copernicus was born.

He formulated a model of the universe that placed the Sun rather than Earth at its center.

To celebrate this great event, the Polish Amateur Radio Union (PZK) will organise, from 17th of February 2023 till 05th March 2023, a radio action during which it will be possible to achieve a commemorative occasional award, for contacts with special event stations of the organiser.

Stations from cities in Poland where Nicolaus Copernicus stayed are participating in the action.

The team from Elblag will work under the special call SN550I on the QO-100 satellite with SSB, CW and digital modes.
