Dear Club Member

As you might have noticed, the number of stations QRV on FTx modes significantly increased over the last months.
If you look at the statistics of the number of QSO, there is a sharp rise too. See the picture below and look for magenta colour:

The increase of activity is welcome, but the systematic abuse of power by many stations if not. So we decided to create 2 skimmers: one for FT4, other for FT8.

There you can see the report of activity over the last 24h, including a list of callsigns and grids, with the correspondent number of decodes each.

The latest decoded messages are displayed with a colour code: green means below the reference level, white on the reference level and red above the reference level. More information about the calculation of the reference level here.

There are also 2 rankings: one for the stations with the lowest decoded value ( Top 👍 ) and another for the stations with the highest decoded signal (  Top 👎 ).

We are aware many stations are running too much power, and sometimes on top of other station (triggering LEILA), simply because they are not monitoring their own downlink.
For those we recommend a document that explains how to operate FTx full duplex via QO-100 written by Matthias, DD1US.

We take this opportunity to thank BATC Qatar-OSCAR 100 Narrowband WebSDR, whose feed we are using.

Please be aware the skimmers are still experimental and adjusts might be made during the coming weeks.

Last, but not least, we want to make clear our main goal is to motivate users to reduce the unnecessary power.
Remember: FTx is a weak signal mode. We look forward to see more green (and less red) on the screen.
Thank you in advance for your support.
