Update 18 Oct 2023: After questioning the Administrator's Office Manager of Ascension Island Government (the body who issue the ZD8 licenses) about ZD8QO callsign, we received the following statement:

"We do not have a record of a valid licence holder with this call sign."

 So, unfortunately, yesterday activity was a pirate station.

Dear Club Members

As, at least, some of you are aware, today a station signing ZD8QO (II22) did a few dozens of QSO using FT8 mode. If real, this will the first time a station from Ascension Is. is active via QO-100 sat.

Given the fact this is a remote location with reserved access, and there is no information about this station on the usual sources, there is a strong suspicion this might be a pirate station.

So, prudency recommends to wait until we have any further information.

We kindly ask you to have some patience.
